We're on out first trip with our 2008 Forest River TT. During travel, the three tiny control buttons on our thermostst broke off. It is a Duotherm. The buttons are: 1)Heat - Off - Cool
2)Fan - Auto or Manual
3)Hi-Low (for Fan Speed)
The lever for temperature control survived.
I have used a tiny screw driver to put #1 above to the Heat position and #2 to Auto, and #3 to High.
We are presently (and temperaraly)parked on the street with the slideout in.
When I move the temperature lever up, most times the fan comes on but no heat comes out. The fan will shut off after about 3 minutes by itself without having provided any heat.
Sometimes though, the fan will go on and the heat will come out and all will work as it probably should.
Sounds like the "sail switch" is either failing or sticking.
The sail switch is a safety device that lets the furnace know that the fan is running and that it's ok to light the burner.
If the sail switch doesn't trip after a short time, the furnace won't light and thus no heat.
The fan can be running as in your case, but if the sail switch doesn't close, no heat.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Is this a wall thermostat your talking about, if so you could possibility have a stat that is mal-fucting.The reason for this as my first suggestion is due to your missing "buttons"
Other items to look at:
Sail switch
limit switch
Fan switch
Loose wire connection
Blower motor not running up to correct rpm's
Here's a PDF file for a 6000 series Duo Threm has a pretty good trouble shooting section.
Yes. It is a wall thermostst. My first guess is that you are right with your thought that the thermosts itself is medded up. I just wondered though if the fact that the slide is 'in', and covering a couple of the floor vents might have something to do with it.
Covering the floor vents may cause some problems but not what you are describing… you are describing a intermittent problem most likely caused by the T-stat…
I am a little surprised they didn’t offset the floor vents to the curb side so they weren’t covered up like that with the slide in…
