Looking for info on theroad from Monument Valley through Hanksville,UT to the Capatol Reef area. We're pulling a pretty heavy rig and the map looks like there's some pretty steep pulls.Any info from you who have made that run would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.
95 from Blanding up to Hanksville is a good road, traffic isn't heavy.
it does drop down to the Colorado River and then climbs back up, but it isn't a steep grade, just a little curvy. After Hanksville, no problems.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
Do not take Utah State highway 261 to 95. Go via 163/191 to 95.

But if you have time to leave your trailer somewhere and drive 261 without it, you may enjoy the scenery. The Moki Dugway with its switchbacks is quite a drive.
It was fun in an SUV to drive up the Dugway, and go on to Halls Crossing. We missed the last ferry of day, so camped on that side, with some gorgeous sunset views. The next day we took the first ferry across (with the school bus), and then north to Capitol Reef. I was hoping to take Burr Trail to Boulder, but a recent storm had left a lot of mud at the Bullfrog crossing. 95 would have been a faster way to Capitol Reef, but we would have missed that sights at the ferry crossing.
