I have been told 2.45/75 is a good replacement easier to find and less expensive. I don't need tires yet and haven't really looked into it.

Go to some of the truck tire web sites and compare tire specs with your 235/80 R22.5 for Revolutions Per Mile, cross section width and load capacity. Michelin seems to have certain tire sizes captive. Find a tire from another manufacturer that meets basically the same specs. Note, they will usually be of a different aspect ratio such as /70 or /75 rather than /80. Match the rev's per mile as closely as you can to avoid speedometer readout problems.
Make sure your rims can accomodate a wider tire if necessary

I had the 235/80-22.5 on mine and changed out to Toyo M154 245/75-22.5 last year, almost identical in size. Michelin is the on manufacture that makes that size.

A 245/75R22.5 and Michelin's weird 235/80R22.5 are the same size.

Someone suggested go to Consumers Union for best tire info. Does anyone agree. Has anyone bought Samson or Sumotomo. The tires are costly, and I wan good value

Those are considerably different in size.
Go to: http://www.michelinrvtires.com/michelinrv/toolbox/reference-material.jsp
Lots of good information, including tire dimensions.
