I know how good it is to get back in the saddle. If the notion strikes you, take a ride east along HWY 98 about 100 miles to Mexico Bch. From there to St. Marks, another 100 mi., you'll be in Florida's "forgotten coast". It's Old Florida, the way the coast appeared 50-60 years ago. Traffic is light and the going is easy. Miles of relatively uninhabited beaches. Stop and pull over. Go for a walk on the beach, drop a line or take a dip. There's a small working waterfront. So, the seafood is fresh at the local dives.
St. Joe, St George, and Ochlockonee River SPs are in the area, along with some commercial parks. The city park in Sopchoppy is a good place to rest while visiting Wakulla Springs SP. There are some National Forest campgrounds in the Apalachicola National Forest with and without hookups... your choice.
Hardees in Crawfordville offered some unique, yet delightful entertainment for breakfast. Three old timers gathered at a corner table, two with guitars and one with a harmonica. The place was packed and management said they were a staple every Wednesday morning. Hopefully, they'll still be performing when I get back that way next month. Good luck and happy to hear you're travelin' again. And a "Happy Mother's Day" to the missus.

1000 nights! That should be illegal, y'all are having too much Fun.
You two are seriously, very good role models for we who are the elder wanderers. It is said "If you don't use it you lose it." So many folks we know in the"Retired" catagory are sitting around complaining and moanin and groanin, whilst your type moves and shakes and bakes, hopping and skipping to your different drummer. We are in admiration, and wish you continued good luck and good health.
Love to all,

Congrats on the 1000 milestone. Yes the gulf coast can be a magnet that holds you in the area. We are both still working but we just spent a week vacationing in Florida at St. Joe State Park. If you go back east along the forgotten coast make sure you eat at the Sunset Coastal Grill in Port St. Joe. They even have a heart heathly menu and you can watch the sunset on the gulf as you eat dinner. Best Wishes, Rick and Kris in Huntsville AL.
