The Eco is hard for some to wrap their hands around because it's a 6 but the numbers are there to prove it 365/420 I know it is relatively new but I can't agree with the person who said at 150000 miles the 6.2 will be like new and discounting the Eco. I know that no one out there has this on there truck that I have seen on the F150 forum but you can YouTube fords test on the Eco and see that they tortured the thing and then broke it down at Detroit auto show and all variances were within spec. If your going w a 150 I would go boost if tou want the 6.2 get a 250. Only downfall is parking the pig day to day but they are an awesome truck as well. Good luck. Keep us posted

I recently purchased an F-150 Ecoboost, Crew Cab, Max Tow, HD Package and we absolutely LOVE it!! We have towed our Rockwood 8317SS three times and have taken it on a 1400 mile trip to/from Floriday and we can't say enough about the way it rides, drives and tows. Love, Love, LOVE IT!

The Eco-boost numbers sound fantastic for pulling a load. But I just bought my wife a Dodge pickup with the 5.7 & 3.92 gears to use as a back up tow vehicle. Went with the V/8 because the Eco-boost may be a fantastic engine now, but I'll wait and see how they hold up over the long run. It's a great idea but I'll have to see if that little engine can hold up in the real world for a good number of years of hard work. It just seems it's going to have to work too hard to compete with a large cube V/8.

Keep in mind that the dodge 5.7 will be screaming up those hills at high rpm's to make max torque while the Ecoboost will make the same torque if not more at about 2000 rpm's.I'm thinking after the long haul if both engines were pulling the same size trailer that the 5.7 will be more worn out than the Eco just because of the simple fact the Eco doesn't have to work nearly as hard. Don't forget the internals of the Ecoboost are much stronger than you would find in the naturally aspirated 5.7 Dodge. Ford built them to handle the boost from those twin turbos. They didn't just take a run of the mill 3.5L V6 and bolt on 2 turbos and say here you go. Just say it with me " I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE" !!!!!!

I bought the Dodge 5.7 with 3.92 gears as well. I dont trust that little motor to hold up.

Thanks---I am curious--looks like you are pulling 34 ft of trailer with a 1/2 ton 150? did you notice a big change with the integrated trailer sway control?

Now I may just have to print this put and tape it to my steering
wheel the next time I tow the trailer!!! No, don't have an Ecoboost yet, but this HAS to be a goood reason to trade in mine after only 61K miles!!!!!! I still want to see how the Eco holds up towing LONG STEEP grades at 110 degree heat like I do all the time....that's all. That is my only concern...oh and the price when my truck was paid for long ago...

it's funny that people think the ecoboost has to scream around at 6000 rpm to keep up with the v8's. You can tell who has driven one, and who hasn't.

Who said that?? I am sure it will chug along at lower RPM's than my truck climbing my 13 mile grade that increases 6,500 ft....I just want to see how it does in 110 degree heat over, and over, and over again. It's this I worry about and have read a few (yes just a few) instances where the truck had some problems. And even my tired V8 only has to push along at 3,400 RPM to make max torque, so I think it can stick around a few more years being paid for........

My trailer is 32' and I'm not sure what you mean about a big change?? I haven't had any major problems with sway that would set off the computer assist sway control. My truck also has the 157" wheelbase which helps greatly with the length of my trailer. I set the cruise at62mph and sit back and relax.Even on the steepest hills here in the northeast the highest i will see is 2400rpm's to maintain speed.
