plug so I can plug it in at the rear bumper and can reach the trailer along with my pickup. Lee.
I tried one of those and it died before it inflated the first tire. I returned it and went back to my tried and true 110 volt 30# portable.

Just make sure you try anything you buy to make sure it will actually go to 110psi. many have a dial that goes to 130-150 but will never even get close. For our Cameo with GY614s I have a VIAIR 400P-RV. Nice and compact 12 volt and does the job. Not cheap but it does the job.

I will second the VIAIR, I have one for the air shocks on our teardrop trailer and for tire inflation. Another name is Airlift. You do need to be mindful of duty cycle.
For tire inflation you want an oil-less compressor what ever you get. Oil and rubber are not good.

I am glad this subject was brought up again. I have a small A/C, but do not know if there is power at the storage facility the fiver is stored at. We cannot check being we are 9 hours away. I am concerned that my tires may be low prior to our maiden voyage in two weeks.
Will the hose for the battery models reach to all four tires using the battery of the fiver?

I,ve had This One from Sears for about 9 years now. It's lightweight and quiet.

BigT wrote: I carry a porter cable pancake air compressor in my basement. It is pretty noisy but it puts out 150 psi and it only weighs about 20 lbs. I was carrying a much heavier 60 lbs. unit that would top out at 120 psi. but we recently traded trailers and the new rig has 17.5" 'H' rated tires that require 125 psi.
I carry one of these as well. Works great and also works for blowing out the hot water heater and refer burnes when bugs get in there.

I also went to 17.5" tires on our trailer which need 125 psi. I also tried the Porter Cable pancake compressor but it was just not fast enough.
So, since I run an Air Hitch, I have an Air bottle jack, I like to use air tools I decided to put an air system on my truck. I installed a 200 PSI VIAIR system -- 2 compressors (mounted on the frame), 2 tanks (5 gallons each). I have air hose connections on each tank. AND since I had all of this air I put a 150 psi regulator on one tank and installed a set of TRAIN HORNS. They are awesome.
A little overkill -- but really cool.
Enjoy the road -- I do.

My 12VDC MV50 sitting on the tongue of my POPUP trailer will run around to all my trailer tires and truck tires...
Havenet tried it with my fifth wheel.
Of course I always have a 2KW generator sitting just inside the tailgate of my truck. Thats my PLAN B
My trailer tires need 60PSI and my truck tires need 80PSI. Works good for me...
