will be changing the trans fluid in our allison 1000 trans. this will be the 2nd time and replacing fluid with transynd for the second change also.
my question is , is it better to drain the pan while the fluid is cold or better to have the fluid at operating temp and than drain it.

any opinions????

I would have it at operating temperature and than drain it.

X2
Here is the change interval provided you already have TranSynd TES- 295 fluid in it.
150,000 miles
(240 000 km)
48 months
4000 hours,
whichever comes first

i switched to transynd 3 yeARS AGO and it was just mix with the trans fluid that the m/h came with new ATF i believe. so it was about a 50.50 mix. since than i put on about 25,000 miles. so want to redo it now again and hopefully it will now be a better and higher percentage mix.

i thought that that would be better but than a trans guy said to leave it cold so that all the impurities and any contamination will have fallen to the bottom of the pan and get flushed out with the drain. kind of makes sense also.

any thoughts????
