We posted about our 2852 Dometic refrig in our new-to-us MH. Someone suggested there were many recalls on these, so I reasearched and found our serial number is one of them recalled for service work. We don't know if this was ever taken care of, but it seems it could be why ours isn't working. Would this recall still be honored since it is quite old?

It is probably not why yours is not working. The recall will not fix a refer that is not working.

Not enough info. What is wrong with it and what was the recall about? I was able to fix a problem on my 1993 fridge. So, we may be able to find a solution but, we don't even know what the problem is yet.

Chances are the recall would need to be preformed if it hasn’t already been done… that doesn’t mean they would have to repair what isn’t working free of charge…

The recall may have been done sensed the problem and placed the fridge in lock out…

An easy to find out if your recall has been done is this it showes how it is done. I took it and looked at mine and it looked like the pictures on the instructions. If it does not then you know that it hasn't been done.If it is on the recall list and hasn't been done the website you looked at will tell you where,in your state and area, where it can be done.just take it there and they will do it.No matter the age if the frige that you have is on the recall list.As far as the cooling problem, that is a different thing.

Thanks all. I called Dometic and our recall was never done. She said that is probably why the gas option doesn't work. Hope so, since the recall repair is free!

I have had this recall done to two trailers. There was an ever so slight chance that a fire could break out in the flue area so, instead of fixing the probability of a fire they engineered a baffle that would contain the fire and not allow it to spread to the surrounding area. This is what was explained by both of the techs who worked on my trailers.

I can't imagine that not having this baffle installed would cause your fridge to stop working on propane. I would be interested in hearing back when you take it in for the recall. It might be something as simple as a blocked flue or an obstruction in the gas line like a spider web or something. Please let us know how this is resolved.

Will do aftermath. She was not a technician--either way we need the gas part functioning eventually. Not many places here in WI that are listed on Dometic website for repair, so trying to schedule in NC when we are by our daughter.
