Congratulations on your new baby! We currently have a 27' travel trailer and are planning on moving to a fifth wheel and I LOVE the Mountaineer model. My only concern is that it may be too long for using forest service campgrounds and boondocking. What type of camping do you use your rig for and what do you think of the length overall.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated from everyone!

BusyC,
We usually camp at a local campground that the company my wife works for owns. All the other campgorunds we go to are big rig friendly so it isna't a problem for us. We usually don't camp at forest service campgrounds or boondock. There are a few of the local forest service campgrounds that we will go to and will just have to get one of the bigger sites. It does limit us but we just work around it.

Thanks so much for the super quick response! We love the floorplan and I would really enjoy the kitchen. Thanks for the honest feedback. We are willing to compromise to get the things we need too.

However, we are also having issues with the RV dealer telling us our truck will handle it (Ford F250 Supercrew 7.3l) and the weight we are reading on their website. There are some discrepancies between the brochure they gave us and the website. Thanks again! Enjoy your new rig!

No one should tell you your truck is too small for the load!

Good luck!

Friendly advise sell the tires that are on your rv and put on GoodYear G14 G tires. You will thank me for the advise!
