So I could faintly tell there was an odd smell when washing my motorhome. Sure enough I got a flashlight and looks to be a nest of some kind on the engine, at the back of the compartment. So I cleaned that up and it was horrible - like really bad.
Anyway, I pulled the doghouse cover and found the critter has cut a wire or a hose - not sure what it is so I snapped a picture. The MH ran with this cut so I'm hoping I can get to the garage with it.
Any ideas what this is for???

BTW: the pic was snapped from inside the MH, the red hose is in the upper right corner when facing toward the front window.

Agreed. There are a few things that run off vacuum (like heater diverter doors) so you may not notice until you need it. Should be an easy fix.

LOL, def a vac line. Autozone should be able to find you a part for it, or match the tube.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

I agree that it looks like a vacuum hose. Snip off a 1/4" of a chewed up end to make a clean end, take that snip to an auto parts store and ask for help there to size up a 6" vaccuum tube extension, go back home and slip the extension over both ends of the tube. It will cost you $2 instead of $60, and you will have learned something.

If you can find both ends. Just splice them together. You can get the plastic barbed connectors at any auto parts store.

What Ron said. Just get a piece of vacuum hose with an inside diameter that's a snug fit over the cut tubing. Put it on and BAM!: permanent repair.
