Not getting political but my father in law says
"why would we want to use ours (oil supply) when we can burn up theirs?"
Makes sense to me.
Thanks!
Because theirs is costing 5 time the amount that it would cost to use ours ..... that's why ... lol
I think that cost comparison is a bit optimistic...if it was cheap to process shale oil, we'd have been doing it for years.
It's only because oil's gone up so much that anybody's doing it on any significant scale now.
And let's not kid ourselves that the oil companies will EVER significantly reduce fuel prices, regardless of the source or their production costs. Why should they?

I think we should use up all of the foreign oil now for whatever the price, and then in the future when they run out, sell ours back to them at greatly inflated prices.
Yes we would still go.. Every time I travel out of country and pay for air flight, hotel and restaurant meals for a week.. I am reminded that it's still cheaper, cleaner and more fun to RV even at $8.00 a gallon.
Besides.. I'm Canadian and I am already used to paying $6.00 a galon ($1.50 per liters 4)
