Where do you pick up your water at? Assuming you'll be boondocking of course.

After sanitizing my tank last weekend and refilling then dumping the black and grey tanks I noticed a significant weight increase at the front of the trailer as I expected. I would prefer to not travel with it full even though where I go with the trailer is only maybe 50 miles away.

Will usually travel with all tank empty, when going to a campground that I know. If hitting the open road, Usually 10 gallons in the Fresh tank, and have my drinking water the camper. NO matter what some campers do, I DO NOT drink water from the Fresh Water Tank. I suppose if I was dying of thirst, I might consider this option. Maybe.

I carry my own known good water. The TH holds 100 gallons for a weight of over 800 pounds. Doesn't really make much difference towing.

There are lots of places to get water. Campgrounds, gas stations, truck stops, rest areas, the list is endless. Buy yourself a "Water Thief" so you can attach a hose to a faucet without threads.

I'm sure you have your reasons for this, but I'm so glad I fill mine up before leaving the house.. Just one less thing to worry about having to do once I get to my destination..

If our destination has FHU, I travel with about 1/3 freshwater. If we are going someplace dry, I fill it up at home. The weight increase is not terribly significant, but noticeable.

I only haul water when there is no water available near my camping destination. However, my typical traveling is up and over mountain passes usually 100+ miles from home with known water sources available. If I was traveling on the flats of TX for only 50 miles I'd haul the water.

I always fill my 85 gallon water tank before I leave...if you have to worry about the extra weight from the FW tank being full then maybe it's time to upgrade your tow vehicle

it just depends on where I go camping. Most of my favorite places have places close by that I fill my tanks. I boon dock in eastern Oregon a lot and the places I gas up have nice cold water wells and I fill up my tank plus several 6 gallon totes. this will take care of our needs for several weeks

We fill up at home. The area we boondock in does not have water and that includes the town near it. I know somewhere back in the woods is a hand pump if I had too but I've had dogs refuse to drink the water at a CG before so I prefer to carry it.

I wish we had a 100 gal tank, our biggest limiter is the FW and holding tank size. I can buy food and dump in Jefferson but not water.
