Lake Bistineau State Park is currently looking to fill 3 camp host slots for the summer. 24hrs a week required. Offering full hookups, wifi, john deere gator,and all the perks of the park. This is volunteer only. Job duties differ for the slots. Can range from fee station operation to campground cleaning. Park is safe and secured by onsite certfied law enforcement. I've kayaked many miles in gator and croc infested waters in Florida and was never bothered by any. Of course, that's no guarantee that you won't run into one that's on the prowl during mating season or one that's been fed by humans.

We do occasionally have someone get lost in the cypress thickets. I have quite a bit of experience with the gators here and not once have I ever had or heard of any causing any problems. They are very timid here.

We volunteered for several seasons at Black Lake Bayou NWR in N LA. A beautiful part of the country and if we were still on the road, I would take it in a heartbeat!
