Hello I am Cathy glad to meet you all.
Ok so we are not going to or hoping to we ARE LOL
going to start full timing in about 1 yr my son is almost outa high school and I cant wait! We are making the preparations now as we all know time fly's.Selling off the house items slowly etc.
My biggest question is this we are not wanting to wait for the traditional retirement we are both in our mid to late 40s
I would rather do it now so we can enjoy and do more. Ok so I do online stuff now(coin selling)and writing books for Amazon and barnes and noble not doing to bad and I know I can take the internet with us now
However the income is not quite enough so what is it that some of you do for income if you don't mind me asking
Oh and I am familiar with the craft shows that is an option too as we also make beaded jewelry that sells well.
We just want some ideas but we don't want another full time job LOL
Hope that made sense I need more coffeee

Hi,

Start with a monthly budget--be generous in the numbers. Then work out what you needs must do to earn those very necessary dollars.

I would not be comfortable without a "reserve" fund of six months of expenses.

You are in your prime earning years... Any idea what you'll use for retirement money if you quit working now? One certainly can't live on social security and then there is the problem of medical insurance which you won't have.

You are selling real estate which historically goes up in value in order to trade it for a depreciating trailer or MH.
Doesn't sound like much of a business plan to me - but I do wish you well.

I think I was just wondering what some of you do for extra while on the road.I know there are a lot of retirees but since we are not I was wondering about the many ideas that you all do?

Some people work camp to cover the cost of their RV space rent.

Hi Cathy,

Work camping is generally low pay or bartering of the use of a campsite. It is not going to generate much cash in your pocket.

Hi Cathy, Here is blog of a couple that like you that wanted to go fulltimimg Mid-life Cruiser The link is her last post, however, read it from the begining to follow her adventure.

It might give you a honest review about younger people full timing.

I hope this may help.

Take Care,
Terry
