Our TT has the jack-knife sofa/bed and occasionally my wife or I need to sleep on it. It's not the most comfortable thing to sleep on with the split down the middle between the sofa back and the sofa bottom, and all the various rods and such.
What can be done to make it more comfortable to sleep on, and preferably something that is easy to store away and doesn't take up much room when not in use.
Thanks

When we had a travel trailer we used an thick egg crate foam pad to cover the jack knife sofa for sleeping. It worked pretty well.

I know exactly what you mean. Our seat part is lower when it is folded flat. I take a quilt and fold it in half. I set this on the "seat" part which gets it fairly level with the backrest. It tucks in a little at the middle between seat and backrest. That is about all we do and it makes it comfortable enough for us.

I find a blow up mattress at the base of the wall hugger recliner that sits where the sofa used to be works well.

Buy a memory foam topper - probably 1 1/2 or 2 inches thick. You may also need a crack filler. Use some of the memory foam if it's too wide. Otherwise a swim noodle or some pipe insulation might work.

Great idea! I bought a piece of memory foam that's the perfect width, but is too long. I can cut that extra length off and use it to even out the cushions.

Throw it out and buy a good Futon. My stupid sofa wasn't even good for sitting on let alone sleeping on. It's in some landfill and maybe a new fender on your car.

Self-inflating camping pads. I haven't tried it in the RV yet, but work well on the ground. Get the thickest version. Bonus is how space-saving they are. Google or Amazon "self-inflating air pad" and read the reviews.

Throw it out and sleep on the floor that would be more comfortable.

My single size Aerobed works great and it stores easy when deflated. JH
