Trying not to over complicate setup on my WDH But views on this forum safety is a must.
Truck measurement 37in Front rear 36 1/4. With trailer hooked up bars attached.
TT front 22in rear 20 3/4 inchs. WDH bars are parallel with frame. That being said bars are not makeing full contact with L brackets Hitting on edges.
Smeared white grease on L brackets to see contact point. driver side towards the back of the bracket. Passenger side towards the front part of bracket. Is this normal or more adj needed. Have 5 washers in head.
Should i adj head or l brackets on frame. Sorry no picks. Thxs all just want it right. joe

Are the L-brackets perpendicular to the frame?

It sounds to me like your trailer is not level. It is very important to have your double axle trailer level as it goes down the road or slightly low in the front.
When your L brackets are mounted perpendicular to the frame you should have good contact with the bars.
Try lowering the ball a bit and check for level on the trailer before you do anything else.

Your TT is 1-1/4" high in the front. Thats a no no. You need to slide the hitch head down 2 holes on the shank. That way you'll be 3/4" low in the front but thats better than being high in the front.

You are supposed to adjust the hitch height on the "L" shank to a height that makes the trailer front and back equal according to the Equalizer manual, your the other way around. You need to drop the hitch a hole or maybe 2 down the shank. On mine it doesn't work out to be exactly equal so you should err to the hole that makes the front end of the trailer a bit low. You can use the shank either pointing up or down, depending on your needs, you can also get them with different lenghts if needed. There is a calculator for the correct shank at the Equalizer site but for some reason I can't get a link to it to post.

If it is high you are transferring weight to the rear tires. Your rear tires will wear out faster and could even be overloaded. This is not a good thing.
When trying to level the trailer it might be next to impossible to get it exactly level. People say it is OK to be slightly lower in the front as this moves more weight forward and toward the ball. This increases stability when towing.
So, shoot for level but if you have to be off a tad, get the front a little lower than the rear. Hope that makes sense.

I am getting to redo my setup after getting a different tow vehicle, noticed the washers and the button bolt or whatever it is is loose, is this normal? It is not mounted on the truck but I thought it was a bolt?

No, it's just a pin that goes into the hole in the shank. If it is loose, there is a set screw under that washer pin that needs to be tightened to keep everything snug. Once it's snug tighten the big bolts to spec torque.
