Going to AK in a month or so with my truck camper.
I'm a member of AAA in So. Cal with RV towing. I called and they said they didn't have road service in AK, but did in BC and YK. Surprised me a bit. I do have State Farm auto insurance with the road service option (pay, then get reimbursed), so maybe that's good enough.
Any tips?
Thanks,
Ralph

Forget about AAA. Same with State farm, they probaly have a limit--like $200.
Get the Good Sam.
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

Lots of us had AAA or AARP road service UNTIL we had to call them for RV service. Now we all have either Good Sam or Coachnet.

AAA service in B.C. is excellent ... never had an issue while we lived there. Now in Yukon, it is fine for road service but not much else. Don't know what else to suggest though ...

State Farm will tow to the nearest place you can reasonably expect to get repaired.
Used it once for the RV. Once or twice for passenger vehicles.

We were told by our AAA that they would not tow the 5th wheel even with AAA+RV. They would tow the truck. They would come and service the 5th wheel , like change a flat. We went with Good Sam road service.

I have AAA+RV and have never had a problem. I had a flat tire on the trailer in Anchorage and they came out and fixed it. They also towed both my 5th wheel and my truck in Northern California when the truck broke down.

mrver; how long ago was that? When we were in PA this passed summer we were at our local AAA office for a title transfer and while waiting we talk with the local agent at that office about RV coverage. They gave us a booklet and called another office regarding towing of 5th wheels. And the answer was--"we do not tow rv trailers". I would believe the policy is the same no matter were you are. The reason we questioned them was because we had coverage with Good Sam and AAA and though one might work if the other didn't in some area's. We did find out that they both usually use the same towing services. But the coverages are different. I would check with AAA, and see it in writing. This is why the agent called another office, because in the booklet it said nothing about towing rv trailers.
