Wife and I are leaving very early on Friday morning from the Atlanta area and heading south on the back roads to St Augustine, FL. Anastasia State Park. We are excited and ready to roll. Our first major trip with the new TT. Crossing all fingers.......Everyone have a wonderfula, safe weekend.

Lake George KOA. We arrive on Wed evening and will acutally pull out Sun. This way we avoid most traffic and have Mon to get settled before this stiff goes running back to work.

Who is camping Memorial Day weekend and where are you going? My family and I are going to Honey Bear campground in the mountains of North Carolina.

I have a rule to never camnp on holiday weekends. Too many, how should I put it ... "inexperienced and unruly people" show up (present company excepted), then there is the traffic. I have every other Friday off anyway so I make my own long weekends.

Going soon on a 2 week road trip and looking forward to that. Will enjoy Memorial Day at home.

A little cool. Seen a number of Elk, found a few mushrooms, and got to try out my new generator.(Honda 2000).
Everything worked except my brain. I left the sway bar sitting on the trailer tongue when we left camp. It wasn't there when we got home.
Every thing else worked fine.
Looking to the next trip.
Take care

Maybe lay off the mushrooms next trip.

Hey! We've only been out three times so I'm very inexperienced and my kids can be unruly at times. Backing into a site only takes me about 45 minutes with 96 different corrections while screaming at the wife out of the back window that she's moved outside my field of vision. Oh, and yelling at the kids to stop arguing with each other while I'm trying to concentrate. Of course this is all being done with all the windows down. Can I not enjoy RV'ing because of that!?

I have yet to find any good campgrounds in the central Florida area that still have sites available. Traffic will most likely be terrible as well and being inexperienced with towing I'm not sure I'd want to deal with the heavy traffic.

Helpful hints:
1. Pick up a pair of walkie talkies - makes backing in much easier
2. Bump into the wife one time (soft of course) she will never be out of sight again.
3. Foster care or Adoption works.
4. Get to your campground real, real early so you are not embarrassed.
5. Finally, if you can't do any of these other things, remember everytime a new camper pulls in, it's a show for everyone's enjoyment. Someone will pull in after you....watch them.

Good luck and great Camping.

Hehe. I was kidding (mostly). We use small 2-way radios to communicate and since we have those she doesn't really need to be in sight. My parents also camp with a TT and suggested I get radios so we're not yelling back and forth and disturbing everyone around us. Sounded like a great idea.
