We have reservations at Deception Pass state park but not sure we can still go. My dad died last night after a long fight with cancer. Am with my mom and sis ehile hubby is home and she may need me next weekend if my sibs can't be there.

Thnaks, just may do that. Appreciate the offer. Have you been there before? I hear it is very tight and because of the low tree canopy it could be tough getting in and out. I have a 28' TT. Have a safe trip and happy camping.
If you go to maps.google.com, you can do a street view drive throughout the park. I don't think it's that tight at all. I guess it depends on the loop and how much the trees have grown. Ultimately, the park is designed for camping. I stayed there only once and had no problems at all.

Camping on a holiday weekend is for folks with more patience than I have.  Happily we are retired and usually do our trips Sunday through Friday. We leave in the morning for a week up at Hawley Lake in the White Mountains (8,400'). By the time we arrive, early afternoon, the CG should be emptying out with lots of left over firewood. Temps should be in the mid 70's and our host's, the Apache Nation, charge $8 a day. I plan on leaving the TT in storage up in Lakeside ($25 a month), for most of the summer. Every trip we don't haul the TT up and back down the mountains we save about $60 in gas vs towing.
