Made it here but Speedometer quit, ABS & check engine lights are on, & the overdrive switch light is blinking.
I'll figure it out in the morning.

09/02/2012 The solution to the problem was indeed the speed sensor on the rear differential. Everything else was a symptom, not a cause to the problem. Who would think that a speed sensor on the differential would effect so many other secondary items as fuses blowing, speedometer not working, AC switch blowing fuses.... Everything has worked fine since replacement.

Thanks for the suggestions people. The problem was fuse #24, a 10 amp circuit that controls the factory trailer/TC charge circuit, the new heavy charge circuit, the ABS circuit, and turn signal. Have not driven yet so don't know if Speedo is working.
Weather is nice. The new TC AGM batteries have a ton of power and are still at 12.6-7 volts after deliberate heavy use.
After more intestigation, I find the fuse blows when I switch the truck ventilation control to the dash and feet output setting. Soon as I click it to that position (one click clockwise from the 12 oclock off position) the 10A fuse blows, so does a 15A fuse. Will have to dig into the dash wiring this weekend. There has been wiring alterations done to this truck before I bought it so there may be something incorrectly altered in there.
Here are pictures from the weekend.
We got to Honeyman SP on the late side. Charlie was in his usual command position behind me.
I hiked about a mile on the dunes. Much more difficult than expected and you need to be aware of off road activity. It's a lot easier to go down than it is up looking at my going and returning tracks.
The ocean is a couple miles from the campground and not an easy hike up and down the sand dunes.

There is a decent car show on during the Rhody Festival.
Here is one with a Ford SOHC 427 in it.

One more bird trying to get some food.
Last shot from Boiler Bay. Last year, we watched a whale feeding in the shallows here.
The last day and drive home were filled with rain. The solar eclipse was lost to the clouds. The view of the coast driving North was a nice change to see it in mildly stormy conditions. Time to plan another trip. Montana Rally comming up fast.

On the bright side: if Honeyman's still as nice as I remember from when I was a kid, at least you're camped someplace nice while you figure out what's going on with your rig!

I have to agree with the speed sensor on top of the rear end. My did the same thing same lights no speedometer. Napa had the part I think it was like has been said a 20 dollar fix. Was not hard to change out if you need more information on doing it I can send you a email. Good luck.

Florence is one of our favorite stops along the coastal route we take to visit our Son and family in Portland....
If you have time, there is a Pizza place on the main drag...
West end on the North side of the street..The best Pizza we have ever had....Unbelievable!!!
Love that rv park. Dry camping spots are the best...
We were there in Nov....70+mph winds, rain...Crazy...
Then again for Easter, Sun shining, beautiful!
Yep, sounds like the speed sensor on the 3rd member...
Might be a connection problem...
Hope all goes well..
Camper Jeff,
How old are your Batteries in the truck? Is it a Diesel? I had similar issues last year with the radio shutting off and the speedo jumping and the OD light blinking. It turns out it was bad batteries....they will cause havoc to the electrical sytem.
Do a complete charging system test. Hope this helps.
Dave.
