We used indoor/outdoor carpet years ago. Putting it away muddy or wet is a pain! Much better to get the patio mat specifically for camping. Walmart even has them now. They don't hold dirt, they're lightweight, and you can just hose them off if you need to because they don't absorb water.
I made a little bag for mine to store it in. Easy, peasy!

I bought one of the 9x16 RV mats (not sure of the brand)at my local RV show a few years ago for $45 and it is a great product. Always fold back as it was originally and dirt passes right through. It will not hold water, does not mildew or rot. I added a nylon bag made for RV mats from my local RV supplier for $12 and now have a great set up with carrying bag. It was a very good investment. It also matches my RV nicely.

I got two of these a few years back for $15 each. They work well. The outdoor carpet is a pain.

You can get an 8x16 RV mat for anywhere between $70 and $90 (one of the nice ones in different colors). Depending on where you get it they will sometimes include a carrying case. I've been thinking about picking one up soon. So far we've only been out three times (still new) and each time they had a concrete patio so a rug/mat wasn't needed. Mantelli sells one on eBay (new) for around $67 + $11 shipping and it includes a carrying case.

Definetely do not go the ID/OD Carpet route. That's what I did because I saw the price that the dealership that I bought our TT from wanted for the dedicated RV mat. $150. I ended up spending more on the outdoor carpet than I would have if I would have gotten one from a place like PPL. I wish I would have done more research.

Dont buy id/od carpet. Spend the money and get yourself one of these patio mats. or just google "rv mats and you'll be sure to find something you like.
They're light weight, don't trap all the dirt that carpet does because a lot of it will pass right through. Just shake it off when your packing up and your good to go for the next time.
I used id/od carpet for the last 20 years with the PUP and bought one of these mats for the new TT and its one of those things that made me ask myself "why didn't I do this sooner.
Buy one.....you wont regret it!

Lots of places sell the out door patio mats we got ours at Walmart 3 or 4 years ago for $40.00. it is light weight, I roll it up strap and onto the rear bumper of the trailer. once in a while if it is realy dirty I just roll it out onto the driveway, and hose it off and looks just as good as when we bought it.
