Go to Lowes and have them cut you off a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet. Worked for me

Look at Indoor/Outdoor carpet at Home Depot. They have large rolls of this carpet. They will cut off the size that you want. It will last several years and it is easy to clean. I roll mine up and put it into a large plastic trash bag for transportation. Keeps the bed of the truck clean.
Also Installed brass gromets so I can nail it down for windy days. Home Depot also has installation kits with spare parts. Just takes a hammer to install the brass part to the carpet.

We went to a home improvement store and bought some outdoor carpet off a roll. It is the green grass like stuff. I have also seen other colors. We did this ten years ago and still works great. Dry's quickly after being hung and hosed. Some people roll and bungee to the back bumper. It is cheap, dry's quickly and lasts forever. Happy trails

We use the one shown in the link. The one we are using has been on gravel, sand, crushed coral in the Keys and grass. This will be the fifth year with more to go. Water and sand go right thru. Helps save the grass too. Don't get indoor outdoor carpet, won't last on gravel, think about storage and it will be very heavy when wet. Search prices on internet, Amazon was the best price we found.

I used outdoor carpet for a few years before I discovered how much better an RV matt is.

Agreed. The RV mat's are thicker, backed, have the edges folded over and stiched. Worth the extra $$$.

I can’t imagine anyone want to use ID?OD carpet for camping… it is heavy holds water and dirt like a industrial magnet to iron… takes a long time to dry and is impossible to thoroughly clean, and is a instant grass killer…

There are far better choices like mats or shade cloth for this purpose…

No one mentioned the stink.

If put away wet and not allowed to dry out properly you will have regrets. I had the fake grass type outdoor carpet and regretted it. I now have an RV mat as mentioned above and since it is breatheable nylon it does not have the same issues. Moreover, as also mentioned above it is made much better and will be more durable in the long run. I prefer to pay a bit more and buy once.
