MrWizard; If your coach is in the 1998-2002 year bracket with
that 5.9 isb, it could be a 53 block. That block has a weak side.
Google "53 block".

Mine is (5.9isb 275hp) and at 54k miles it zippered just last year.

Cracked injector will cause white smoke, but you should be able to smell the fuel.

Edit after rereading your post.
Fotget what I said about white smoke as you said it was comming from your coolant tank.

@ executive
I didnt know where to go i was dependent upon the ers rep the rep was using a computer and phone to find out where to take me i think the ers rep is in florida

I asked the tow driver what he knew about them
He said they mainly did collision repair and interiors but that yhey had good diesel mechanics and only 3 places would in the area would work on RVs
Here one in flagstaff and one in pheonix
When your on the road your between the rock and the hard spot

Maybe try some super glue to get you to the repair place. This is pending how bad the tank is broken

I'd be tempted to patch the tank, fill with water just to determine the engine status. I'm not suggesting highway driving.

Won't work. Wasting your time unless you take the tank off and clean and clamp once the SG has been placed. Water under pressure will overcome SG.

Depending on where the crack in the tank is, strip of eternabond tape maybe?

So very sorry for your troubles... but I gotta ask. Weren't you paying attention to your temp gauge? Overheating an engine is just like running outta fuel....there's just no excuse for it.

Again, very sorry this happened to you. Hope all turns out well for you.

After reading about your tank bursting, I decided to patch mine which I noticed was seeping through a crack. I wrapped 4" eternabond webseal around it & took a couple of sewer hose clamps & reinforced the eternabond with the hose clamps. Hopefully that will get me back to the Valley of the Sun where Chandler Freightliner will be happy to lighten my wallet.
