no weekly rooms until next week
HoJo wanted $49 Tues & wed, $59 Thurs, $99 per night over the week end
then we can have a weekly next week

so NAD pulled us out on the street and here we sit until next week another 5 or six days before they take things apart.!!

until now I liked holidays

If it got hot enough To seize then its pretty much junk, I am not real crazy about Jasper Diesel rebuilds, Its kind of hit or miss from what Ive seen

@ raceday
engine did not seize
it did stop running and would not/will not restart
but it turns over, seems to be NO compression

me .. i lean toward burned out head/valves, but i'm not a diesel mechanic

Could this be something not so bad like a broken timing chain? There would be compression on some cylinders. But may not explain the cooling tank leak or black smoke.

As long as we are guessing, my guess is camshaft related--ie broken timing chain/gear, broken camshaft?

Sorry to hear about your road troubles! A couple of week's from now you'll have an "adventure" story to tell. Maybe laugh about...well...maybe just a little...
I'm also sorry because this makes me feel a little content with my old Ford gasser.
I "traveled" to NAD on Google Earth street-view last night. Seems to be a pretty quiet light-industrialized end of the earth. Other than fretting about the pending $$ (and apologizing over and over to the wife who pays the bills...), I would be salivating at the thought of looking over the shoulders of the techs when they start the tear-down and during the rebuild. LOL. You know they'd LOVE that. LOL. REALLY! For me there is nothing more relaxing than watching other people work. And I'd be thinking "this is part of what I'm paying for">> Me in a big lawn chair in a shady spot, a frosty beverage in my hand, watching OTHER guys swearing and sweating for a change...
Oh, the life of a full-timer.....
But as a practical matter, after finding alternate sleeping quarters, the best thing for everyone there might be to start a semi-agressive search for touristy sights and activities? Sort of making lemon-aid out of your lemon?? The wife and pets may prefer that kind of entertainment.
Best of luck!!
