I see this on a lot of forums so maybe we should have one spot to get an answer for those looking to buy a TH for full time or to spend a lot of time in.

What is the best TH for full timing or for living in?

I'll start off by saying we looked at many, many TH's and felt most looked like NASCAR car trailers. Checkered floors, cheap furniture, small kitchens, one slide and cheap fixtures. Not something you would want to live in and more like a weekend get away for dad and the kids.

After a long search we found a 2007 Sunnybrook 39' Titan that felt more like our 2000 Forest River Spinnaker with a 16" frame, real wood cabinets, custom fixtures, island kitchen, beautiful shower and 3 slide outs. Although it weighs more it pulls much better and I get an additional 1 mpg pulling it.

A well made unit that is comfortable and well built for full time living.

What did you buy that you like to full time in or at least spend a large amount of time in?

In my life I've spent my money on women, booze, Harleys, guitars and traveling, the rest I just wasted...

Howdy!

For fulltime I would be looking at New Horizon, Excel, New Mar, and KZ Escalade model.

I just thought one place to find the best full time units would help a lot of people. As we all know many TH's are built only for the weekend dad and kids get away and you wouldn't want to live in them. Going through all the different ones takes a lot of time and even then you don't know how well they are built. It took me months to find mine.

If enough people who own a full time unit post it would cut the list down and make it easier to find a good unit with some good input.

I bought my 2008 Weekend Warrior Full Throttle FTL 4005 with the idea of spending a lot of time in it. It seems that it will be quite comfortable for prolonged living.

I have a Sportsman Sportster 41KX with three slides, 2 A/C units and provisions for a third. I have multiple Fantastic Fans and even a real ceiling fan with lighting in the kitchen. I like it because the 14ft garage is completely separated from the living space with it's own entrance. (There is a door to the kitchen, but it locks if needed.) I have 110gal fresh water, 75gal black & gray tanks. 5500 Onan and a ~25gal tank that supplies the gen-set and pump station. Tons of storage. A full-queen bed, large front closet, etc, etc.
I use the garage as a workshop with it's screened deck and ample space and storage. I can also close the kitchen door and not see any of the garage and then it just looks like an upper-middle RV, not a cheap NASCAR toy. I've lived in it full-time for 6 years and think I made the best choice, especially for someone who has tons of tools and likes to fix everything himself. I also had room for bicycles and whatever else extra I wanted to carry.
Although this RV pushes 43' on triple axles, it pulls like a dream, even better than my 26' bumper-pull. It's easy to park and a breeze to setup.
If I were to full-time again I would want either this unit or something really close to it. I also learned a lot about how they are constructed and made many improvements to it, that although aren't completely obvious, made a good unit even better. For example, I feel that the drawers and shelves inside the cupboards were sub-par, but I haven't seen many that weren't. I installed better shelving and replaced all the drawer slides with higher quality pieces, but that's about it.

We have a 2012 Excel Wild Cargo and we were in the Rocky Mountains last weekend and woke up to -4C/24F temperatures. The unit is very well insulated and they offer a -23C/-10F guarantee that your unit will not freeze up if the furnace is used. The insulation also makes it very comfortable for hot climates as well when using air conditioning. The construction is top notch. We would be comfortable full timing in it and are very happy with our purchase.

We spend about 6 months a year in ours. It took a little effort to convert sleeping places to storage, but having done so, it's now quite comfortable.
