I feel like the "born loser" - need more help.
When we got ready to come back home from a trip I hooked up the saturn to the rv, hooked up the light wires and found that the Right turn signal light (also includes the same bulb with the hazzard lights) was not working. the rv turn signal was fine.
unhooked the saturn, tried the lights on it and they were fine-both right turn and hazzard light worked. I used a volt meter to the male and female hookups at the car and the rv and there is voltage coming through the right turn signal hole on both vehicles when the turn signal is turned on.
I figured the connectors were too corroded so I cleaned them = still didn't work. next thought-something wrong with the connectors even though voltage present at each. so came home without a right turn signal.
bought new connectors and wired them in = still no right turn signal. still works fine in the car if not hooked up to the rv.
any ideas? because of the weekend cant call a rv service center til mon. Thanks AGAIN!

Not sure how this applies to a toad but on regular trailers, a light not working or being dim is often a poor ground somewhere in wiring.

You didn't say what chassis of MH. There could be separate fuses for trailer connector. Look in your chassis fuse block or manual.

Since you have voltage on both sides of the plug and socket, and the lights on the toad work by themselves, that leaves following the wire back to a bad spot from the plug wire, bad diode if used, or a bad bulb if standalone bulbs were installed.

Find which color it is and then try to find a place as far back as possible. I would take the light assembly off on that side and look for the wire. It might become clear with a simple inspection. If you need to probe that wire use a simple sewing pin to pierce the wire and find a good clean ground.

I don't know how the lights in the Saturn are wired, but since the Saturn turn signals work right, the MH turn signals work right, there is the correct voltage at the connector on the MH when unplugged from the Saturn, I would say something was wrong between the connector on the Saturn and the light.

Does the Saturn use the same bulb for the MH turn signal as for the Saturn signal? If so there are probably diodes in the circuit, if not the separate bulb could be bad. Can you check the voltage on the bulb with the MH turn signal on? If not any voltage there check the voltage on the diodes. Work your way back until you find voltage.

Edit: YC 1, I didn't see your post until after I wrote mine. Didn't mean to repeat yours. BTW, you give good advice.

tenbear:
On some chassis like some Fords, there is separate trailer connector circuits.
You are correct if the manufacturer tapped into the MH's lighting circuit.
OP: It would be good to know what chassis you have.

The OP said "there is voltage coming through the right turn signal hole on both vehicles when the turn signal is turned on." Wouldn't that indicate that the Ford circuits were ok?

You maybe correct! Would have to say "OP, is that at both ends of the ambilical cord?" Next, use a jumper and apply 12 volts from Toad to the right turn signal pin location on the receptacle of the toad.
It could be an open diode wherever the installer placed it or a wire has come loose on the diode.
