Cannot figure out how to connect Direct TV to our TV system. Here's a pic of the system's box.

Here's a pic of the back of the box:

Here is a picture of the front of the box. There is a coaxcable into the Satellite plug. I do not know where to put my satallite box.

Sat box needs to go between the switch box and the TV I would guess. Personally I would not use the switch box for sat. Take the cable off the switch, connect it to e sat box and then use either a HDMI or three wire connection from sat box to the TV.

Looks like a Hurricane. But in any case you connect you satelite dish to the back of the satelite receiver as it was in your home. Then where it says TV Out, that goes to the back of the distruibution box (the one with all the buttons) where it says satelite in. Presto you connected. Select you front TV button, then Satelite and then you can check you set up.

This will allow you to switch from locale over the air to satelite, front and back TV - Bill

2 Retired,

I reduced the widths of your pictures to the forum's recommended maximum of 640 pixels. I deleted the attempt to post a third picture. The third picture would have been identical to the second one. It did not display because it had too many img tags.

This thread is moving from Forum Technical Support to Technology Corner.

You can also connect your "Air Antenna" too Off Air connection on the back of your Direct TV receiver.. It will then pick up your air antenna channels at the same time (channel 3 or 4 on you receiver)

That will depend on how old your receiver is. My oldest DVR has this feature but the newer receivers and DVR's do not.

Many of the newer Direct TV receivers - my HR24 for example - do not have a coax input for off the air TV or for an output to the TV. In that case you would not be able to connect the sat receiver to the switch box without some sort of RF modulator.
Do you have coax output on your sat receiver?
