Michelins ribs have a speed rating Q which means they are good for 99 mph, I put on a set of Firestone Transforce HT's which are rated for 106 mph. They are but I am not. Pulling accross I80 in Nv at 65 is fast enough for me, and my milage dropped to 9.5, slowed down to 57 and mileage went up to 11.1..... Figured by using the gray matter between my ears.

The Michelin XPS Ribs are not designed for or used as OEM on any RV trailer axles (I‘m not saying they can’t be used there. It’s just a statement of fact.). However, they do seem to have a lower speed rating when used on self propelled RVs. To verify that you can go to their truck tire web site and find them with a “Q” (99 MPH) speed rating. Then go to the Michelin RV web site and they are clearly restricted to 75 MPH in that listing for RV service.

Not really if michelin doesn't make the size or load range that I need why would they be the best for me. Michelin tires are on our truck. Same tire as a friend has and his are cracking and wearing very fast on his tow vechicle.

Without cracks in the sidewalls I would run them. But would also have a system on there to keep me posted on air pressure and tire temps.
But will have that no matter what. Shoot if it saves one tire failure that rips the underside of the camper up. Its $$ ahead in my book.
I hate to say it, but my tires on my 16ft equipment tailer is 12 years old. Plus haul 8000 lbs on it a lot. Never any issues but also tires have no cracks.

My Michelin Ribs were made in Feb 2006. They still look like new, no cracks almost no wear with approx 37000 miles. Guess I'll try to make one more hot Texas summer and then decide what to do next spring. We travel 3 - 4 months per year then it's in the shed the rest of the year. Thanks for the tip about 10 years for Ribs. I'll Google it.
