I have 2004 Winnebago Minnie 29 foot. I just replace tires and stayed with the Micheln that Ford used. LT225/75R16 M/S. I bought tires from Costco 6-$1400. But used LesSchwab to install $240. Les. Schwab quoted Toyo but be careful.. They are Good tires but the E rates load is 300 pounds less per tire on the Toyo . I also installed dully valve stem on the dual wheels-kit coat $110.

I went to Les Schwab in North Bend. They are all over. Great service and will match any price if you ask them. I changed my drive tires to Toyo Snow and Mud rated tires.

Are you sure you need new tires for the drive home to Spokane? The tires on it will only be 5 years old and probably not close to being worn out unless they've been killed by UV.

I'm not positive, no.

But when I inspected the tires they had some cracking on the inner sidewall near the rims. It's only a little less than 300 miles, but my luck I'd blow one and destroy my plumbing or worse.

Thing about Schwab is that they have locations all over the western states, providing free service to buyers of their tires and for those entering BC/Alberta, they have a reciprocal agreement in place.

So after calling around for prices, Schwab is quite a bit higher. For Michelins(which they don't stock) $1900, $1700 for Toyos. Discount Tire will you sell me a full set of Michelins for $1400.
Very big price difference.

Wouldn't hurt to ask Les Schwab if they'll match that price- you never know!

Also-

I don't know how the whole "free air/tire rotation/flat repair" etc. thing works with either vendor when it comes to bigger rigs...might be worth asking/evaluating along those lines as well.

Hi Chris...

I put a lot of miles on RV's due to traveling long distances regularly to attend dog shows.

We have found Discount Tire to be outstanding with customer service and I have been able to find service in more places through out the US than with Les Schwab. Discount tire has been willing to beat any price quote we get, including Costco's and when we had an issue on our Ford F350 4x4 Dually with an 8.5' Camper on it in Utah and did not have the tires we needed in stock they set us up next to their shop with water and power and gave us the wifi access code and had the tires in the next morning.. sent one of their guys 250 miles each way to get the tires for first thing in the AM installation.

When we bought this Cruise America FourWinds 24A in March we drove to UT to get the year and engine on the 450E since they did not have it in Everette, WA. It came with brand new tires but not the type we wanted so we stopped at that same Discount tire and they did a great trade in deal for us and swapped out all 6 tires for the type we wanted at a great deal.

I can't tell you how happy we've been with Discount Tire over the past 20 yrs.

Thank you to everyone for the helpful information.

Les Schwab gave me a price adjustment on the set of michelins and will be taking my coach tires in on trade value. So with a $400 discount they will mount them and install the upgraded valve stems as well. We've delt with Schwab for our daily drivers and have been happy with the service and convenience.

Nice thing about Les Schwab is that they always seem to have a shop in the little towns around NorthWest that we always seem to drive through on our RV adventures. They also are the only ones that really understand and can service our SmarTire pressure monitoring system.
