It really boils down to rear living room vs curb side living room seating.
The Jayco 29RES was discontinued, and is limited to dealer stock only...usually means it wasn't a good selling unit. Because of that, you may be able to buy one for a good deal.
We like the RLDS better because of the Linen Closet/wardrobe/pantry slideout gived the bedroom an airier feel...and the exit door is in the living room, AND one in the bedroom.
I found in a national search, brand new 298RES for $29,575.00 in Texas all the way up to full msrp of $38,663.00.
The RLDS was $28,600.00 in MO., up to $42,200.00 msrp in OR.

We just got our 29rlds Jayco. Been out a few times with it. So far the only gripe I have is it's really hard to get the sheets on the bed with the side closets. But we love it so far! The slide wardrobe is the bomb! So much storage!
