I do believe this is an ineliglble tow vehicle. From the pictures you have provided there has not been a hitch installed yet.
On a serious note, good looking SUV inside and out. We're keeping my basic SUV, Xterra, until DS can't fit anymore back there. Please post on performance. I've been getting 18 mpg hand calculated with my X.
Congrats on the new ride they are a very nice cross-over.

is not ture. If she had a Volvo she had a Ford! Ford owned Volvo up until 08/2010 when they sold it to China's Geely. Was a very said day and sorry but a very poor move on Fords part. Here's hoping Geely doesn't finish off Volvo like Ford tried to do.

Actually, Ford didn't buy Volvo till ~2000, her S40 was designed/conceived in the pre-Ford owned era (actually joint effort with volvo/mitsubishi). So Ford can't take credit for having only one non-wear item failure over 105K miles, a relay for the climate blower motor, which failed in the warranty period. The only unexpected wear item were sway bar 'bar to body' bushings that failed at about 90K miles.
By far the most reliable vehicle she's owned. Before the Volvo, she had an Infinity G-20 and a pair of SL2 Saturns. Here's hoping the Edge is a lot like the Volvo in reliability.

Very nice. Your new car looks nice and I like the idea of a turbo 4 banger...economy when you want...power when you need it.
You mention Hyundai Santa Fe. That's one of the candidates for our next vehicle. I've known two guys who have always got domestic cars in the past and bought Santa Fe's in the past 18 months. One has the 4 cylinder, the other the V6...the V6 has ton's of power.
Both have not had one problem between the two of them in that time. BTW, the Santa Fe is made in Georgia I think....maybe Alabama.
My wife is very jealous right now! We're looking to trade her Escape for something with comfortable seats. The Edge is at the top of the list for the reasons you mentioned as well as some others.

I really wanted to like the SantaFe. My FIL has a new Tucson, it's a great combo of price, options and warranty(a bit of a harsh ride). But the SantaFe is way too long in the tooth IMHO, and when I see a 6 or 8 year old Hyundai on the road, they look like they don't hold up very well. We tend to keep vehicles for a long time, so it's important that the hold up well to the elements.

My wife is already loving the power liftgate and remote start/inteligent entry. Very nice with full hands, but there are so many features I'm still trying to learn about them all.
My wife does not take her remote out of her purse or her cell phone. The phone synchs up automatically and grabbing the door handle unlocks the door. Press the brake pedal and touch the start button and you are off. I just noticed the latest mod has someone swinging their toe under the tow hitch and the hatch opens. Now that is way cool. We actually traded off a nice Cadillac pickup. We looked at the Chevy Equinox and the Cadillacs and decided to drop by the Ford dealership. The Edge interior and features are amazing. So is the price. Right up there with the Caddy. The ride is nice and they handle like go-carts with the acceleration of any of the early muscle cars and get incredible mileage. With a six speed tranny there is lots of fun to be had when you put it in manual shift. You can play DVD movies, input your ipod or thumbdrive, or run your music list from your phone. Talk about distracted driving. No wonder it has the alarms and safety devices. My model will tow 3500 lbs and tows four down wonderfully. Storage in the rear is large and the seats fold down if you need more. Voice operated navigation is amazing.
