No problem with the rig...your wife might not like it though. Going to Ouray is easier, IMHO than coming into Durango. Very pretty drive, but it will take all YOUR attention with the switchbacks, narrow sections, steep drop offs and no guard rails..but hey! you're supposed to stay ON the road... .....enjoy the trip...Dennis

Hey, guys. We made it. I loved the experience. My wife was scared spitless. One of the most beautiful drives ever, and Ouray is a picture postcard.

Congratulations.... Glad you made it. I have done it several times on a motorcycle and looking forward to doing it in the MH.

Ouray Co is known as the Switzerland of America..We live about a 45 min drive from there and visit it often. The scenery is spectacular. Vist it if you can and enjoy the beauty of Colorado. Maybe thats why I have lived here for 40 years. We enjoy the NW also. Washinton State, Coos Bay and all of Oregon.. We are the luckiest of people on earth to have these sights at our disposal. They wer'nt kidding when someone said "Go West young man go west"

We loved it last year. We ran it first in the Jeep for the DW to get an idea of what it was like, and then she decided it was worth the trip again a few days later on our way south from Ouray to Durango in the RV towing the Jeep.
This year we're going to do it again, but going the other direction.

We are heading to Ouray for a week in August. I am way excited. The last two times we were there were for one night as we were passing through. This time we are taking the Jeep and the Harleys to do some off-roading and riding around that beautiful area.

I'm jealous, love the area.
Can the poster above expand on the dry camping at Eureka comment? Are there formal National Forest Campgrounds up that way? Just public land? Something else? Gotta go check forestcamping.com and see what they have listed....
Thanks
