Just received a very professional sounding phone call from a Verizon rep saying that I should log onto "www.myverizonsummer.com", log on and go to the verizon summer page and get a $100.00 credit.
I did indeed go to that url and the page looks very legit and exactly like the myverizon page always does. I didn't log on but I did go to my regular "myverizon.com" bookmark and logged in and couldn't find anything that eluded to my verizon summer.

It's a scam.
I just got off the phone with Verizon. Yes at 2am. They were not aware of this new scam and they DO NOT have a special summer discount offering.

The guy got the wrong company. TXU Energy in TX is offering free nights this summer (for new customers) meaning they will not be charged for electricity they use during night time hours. Whoopee! Big savings! (And this is their commercial on tv this week so it's legit.)

just logged in using all false and weird data and was successful in getting the discount (yeah right) the only thing they want is your real log in data total scam
On edit I did click on their hyper links and they took me to what I believe was the proper Verizon web site page and you would have to log in again which I believe would be the legit web site. I did not log in on those pages if I wanted to go to Verizon I would use my bookmarked url. and caution anyone not to log in on those pages

Thanks for the verification of my suspicion. I was born in the dark of night but it wasn't last night and I have to say: this scam is really done well. Its page and even the url line at the top of the page looks exactly like the Verizon log-on page. I'm betting that there are a lot of people falling for this scam. The crooks are getting better and better at their ploy.

That page looks legit. That's what sent me to the phone to call them. My wife would have fallen for it I am sure.

Look at the creation date on it. Yesterday. I'd bet the guy whose name it is in is either an identity theft victim, or just a made up name.

Verizon must have got right on this as it looks like the page is gone already.
