Our class A has water and electric hook up to install a washer dryer combo unit. We are looking at an LG unit. Can we install/hook up our selves? What all is involved? Are there directions on how to do this so we can save $$$? Thank you!

First, measure to make sure you can get the unit thru the door and that it will fit in the provided space.
You might have to take a chair out or even a window to get it inside.
Enlist some muscle to help out.
Vent it outside.
Make sure wiring is compatible.
Secure the unit VERY SECURELY.
We have a Splendide 2100 and use it all the time.
RV brand, floor model, etc will get better responses. For example my rig is a 2005 Itasca Meridian 36G.

Make sure you don't place the vent too high on the side wall, otherwise you will get lint build up in the vent hose. The service manager at Splendide told me that is the number one mistake made by people when installing their units. I assume it would be the same for an LG. Our Newmar Mountain Aire had a spot marked on the inside wall where they wanted you to pass through the wall to avoid any wires or studs. RV washer/dryers are not the most efficient units around, but my wife would not do without our Splendide 2100XC.

We have a new 7100 series unvented Splendide and it is much better than the 2100 series unit it replaced. I believe LG has an unvented model, also. If you are considering an unvented some people here will tell you they are awful, all we can say is that the new one works so well you would be hard pressed to tell it isn't vented. And to answer your next question, no, the moist air does not end up inside the coach. Going with an unvented, of course, eliminates the need to cut a hole in the side of your RV.
One aspect about installing it yourself that hasn't been discussed, is do you have the plumbing already done? Does it end up in "normal" washer valves or is it simply stubbed off? In our MH the PEX water lines are directly connected to the back of the washer; we don't use washing machine hoses. The coach was plumbed with water shutoffs that are accessible from a master panel so they aren't needed behind the washer. However, working with PEX piping requires some skills you may not have.

I'm kind of thick. If the unit is not vented then where/how does the exhaust air from the dryer cycle get outside?

I can only speak for the Splendide, but I assume LG's approach must be similar. The unvented Splendide has two drums, an inner one that is the normal wash drum and and outer one that is used for the drying cycle. During drying the inner drum is heated (I assume electrically) and the water vapor coming out of the clothes goes through holes in the inner drum and is deposited on the outer drum. There is no dryer exhaust in the usual sense.
Cold water is circulated around the outer drum which ensures that it remains cold enough to condense the water vapor back to water which is then collected and sent down the drain to the gray tank (or wherever your washer drains to). The unit uses something like 2.5 gallons of cold water per hour of drying time for the purpose of keeping the outer drum cool.
If you weren't aware, these unvented units are popular in Europe and Asia where it may not be possible to vent a dryer through an outside wall, particularly in older structures. They weren't designed for RVs; that's just an ancillary market.

Camping World and other retailers charge about $100 more for the ventless models.

LG is not vented and will fit the same size space as the Splendide. Have had our LG for six years and works great-no wrinkles, larger load, etc. More expensive but well worth it!
