Six week old Dutch Star......Porcelain tile throughout......tear down list tells me to check items in fridge then lock......nothing has ever moved so I just locked it this morning......forgot about bottle of wine that I laid inside until I could make a spot for it in the door......guess I forgot.....bottle came out when I opened the door and put a dime sized chip in a tile. I am just sick. Tell me I am not the first bone head to do this and please tell me that when I get to a shop at some future date that it can be properly replaced with an extra tile we have in a storage bay? After battling a HORRIBLE wind across Iowa, this was how I started my stay here. Oh well. Thanks for letting me vent about my own stupidity.

Things like have happened to the best of us. Open the slides and drive it into a 4X4 post putting a nice notch in a brand new fiver for one. Taking the roof off when I cut too tight around a tree for another. Now you have a good excuse to have a small carpet under the refer LOL.

Just be glad the wine bottle did not explode. It happened to me.

If that is all you have to worry about you are having it much better than most people out there.
You said you have an extra tile to match. It will be easy to repair.

You need to find something else to keep you occupied. Do you hobbies?

Congrats on the pet therapy team. That will be great for you and your pet and especially the people that you both help!

For just a dime sized chip, I believe they make color repair kits for porcelain tiles. Epoxy based, mixed with a little porcelain I think.

If the bottle didn't break, drink the wine. You'll feel better about the chip.

Stuff like that is just part of the adventure and adds to the, "stories you can tell."

Replace ASAP so the grout matches - easy repair with spare tile from the same lot. You might want to consider a carpet in front of the fridge door. That wine is one of many things that will fall out during the camping season.

Porcelain tile is the same color all the way through. Ceramic tile has a glaze over clay; usually red or gray. Also porcelain is much harder than ceramic and probably would not have chipped. The bottle would have broke first.

Bought my 03 motorhome 2 years ago. Dealership told me the tires were almost new (I know, I know). Tread looked good. Went for a alignment yesterday and they told me the tires were coded 01. 11 years old! Talk about bone head!!

Yeah, I truly know how lucky I am for what I have and hope to never take it for granted. Thanks regarding the pet therapy comments. It has truly changed my life. The first time I placed Blake on the bed of a completely unresponsive elderly man, at the request of the daughters, and he immediately lifted both his arms to hug Blake, and did not want to let go, I knew we were doing something that would change my life, and hopefully brighten the day of a few others. He is the most amazing dog I have ever owned. Regarding the tile.....I know it can be fixed, maybe even patched, I was just mad at myself but I know it will not be the last stupid thing I do!
