I have a 2005 Keystone Laredo 284 BH camper.
I'm needing a bunk ladder for one of my grand kids, to help in getting to top bunk.
When I measured from top bunk, straight down to floor, measurement was 50 inches, but if I angled tape measure 55 inch would work fine also!
When measuring, what is the best? Straight down or at a angle? Measurement.
Most of the ladders I have found is 60-65 inches.
Anyone have a idea? Thanks for any help!

We went to a furniture store and bought one for regular bunkbeds. We used it for the cabover in a class C.

This is what we did, we purchased a ladder from Webbs in Bangor and used a pipe cutter, removed the hardware from the top and trimmed it, replaced the hardware and it works great.

sorta

None of the above,sorta...

You have an imaginary triangle here. One leg of the triangle is the (verical)distance from a point above the entrance to the top bunk to the floor. Yor need some overlap! The other leg of the triangle is the horizontal distance from the face of the bunk to where ever you want the bottom of the ladder to rest(sit), typically up against someting. The lenghth of your ladder is equal to the hypotenus of the triangle. If in doubt, make it longer, you can always re-do it. The hypotenus is equal to the sqaure root of the sum of the squares of the two legs. Google it if needed and look at wiki if needed! 3, 4, 5 triangle. 3 squared = 9, 4 squared = 16. 9+16 = 25. The square root of 25 = 5, the hypotenus in a 3, 4, 5, Square triangle!

Or you could just wing it!!!!!!

Years ago, I needed a ladder so the growing boy could get to bed by himself. Got a material list, got on the highway and headed to the lumber store. Pasted the first turn off and right there on the side of the road was a buck bed ladder. Perfect, project completed.
