some cummings models fuel pump get to much juice and will just shut off. This happen several times with us, Cummings has a reducer , very easy to put on. I would call them and ask if this could be the case , order it and they will stay on the line with you to help install it.

Let me know what you find, mine did the exact same thing last time out. only the engine never quit, it would idle, but not respond to throttle. and it had a yellow engine light. Shut it off, check engine all is good, start it up and drive away. no more problems.

What the H-LL was that?

It happened in the little town of Gold Bar Wa, highway 2, we had just run Stevens pass both ways no problems.

Probably algae in your case.

Even though it is a mechanical engine it probably has an electric throttle. Can't see it having a mechanical throttle in a rear engine. That would likely be something to check.
