We want to stay near Dollywood (Pidgeon Forge/Gatlinburg) the week of Aug 20th. We've narrowed it down to two parks in Sevierville and two parks in Gatlinburg - River Plantation RV Park (good sam's), and Two Rivers Landing. Both very highly rated in TL. The two in Gatlinburg are Smokey Bear Campground and Twin Creek RV resort- both also very highly rated in TL. We have two boys, 13 and 9, and would like to spend a few days having fun at the CG. We plan to buy 3 day passed to Dollywood and the water park, so we're looking for any discounts possible. That totaled $371 for us. Thanks for any help and we can't wait as we've never had the pleasure of camping there!!

Closer to Dollywood, which means not dealing with crazy traffic, can leave to go back to campground and return if you want, save money on food cost. Just my 02.

Looks very nice. I think I saw that one in the Trailer Life book, but they didn't have their website posted. I told my wife we would want a place close or with a trolley service as the traffic up there is insane.
Just my 2 cents worth, we goto Gatlinburg area yearly, sometimes more,we stay in cabins, but have seen a couple of very nice campgrounds in Pigeon Forge two on the same road to dollywood I believe its dollywood lane, and one on the parkway, on the west bound lane at the last light in pigeon forge, or the first light if you are coming from gatlinburg toward pigeon forge. Have a fun vacation, many things to do in that area.
Kind of hoping for either a park somewhat close to Dollywood, or with a shuttle, and not a lot of traffic noise. Twin Creek RV Resort and River Plantation seem to fit that bill. Bear Cove Village looks like one to consider. All of the ones I've mentioned and Bear Cove appear very nice. I like as many trees as possible and a large enough pool that my kids won't be jammed in with others.
I thought River Plantation has a gravel plant right next door. You might not hear the road noise but the plant is loud and dusty.
Clabough's has a trolley that rides right into the CG, it's in PF, has 2 pools and is generally loaded with kids. The sites at the back of the CG have some decent room with shade.
If you want to stay with your list Twin Creek is the nicest CG on your list. You can drive through the Arts & Crafts community and come into PF near Dollywood using back roads to avoid the worst of the traffic.

River Plantation definitely looks fantastic and has great reviews everywhere I've looked. I read complaints about road noise at Twin Creek, but I guess you're gonna find complaints about things everywhere. Sometimes position in the park helps that.
Stay at River Plantation every time and I've yet to hear this so called rock quary. Maybe I'm hard of hearing but we love the place. Will be back in July.

Thanks again. I love the responses from avid enthusiasts on this site. I'll be sure and post up what I hope is an accurate review from our Memorial Day weekend at Lakewood Campground in Myrtle Beach SC.
