I purchased from La Mesa but in Yuma, AZ. That was nearly 7 years ago and I bought a used DP. They have given me the greatest after the sale service, honored the warranty on it even a year after the warranty expired. I've had various service items taken care of by them every winter and have been treated fairly.

A friend of mine purchased his unit 3 years ago and found several small problems with unit. They hired a guy some 100 miles away to comeand fix his problem (one blind string broke). His other issues were taken care shortly there after. I decided to buy my unit from them and brought it back a week later for a few punch list items, and was well taken care of. There top gun as far as I'm concerned. I'm from New York but find there always will to talk and do very helpfull. Just my two Cents. and purchased mine in Yuma. Bill
I purchased two gas Winnebagos from them, the first in 2001 and the second in 2003. While I cannot say that purchase of an RV from ANY dealer could be a GOOD experience, I did manage to get my anticipated price on the coaches. The PDI and after-purchase service was very good.
When it came time for my DP purchase, I first went to La Mesa and ran into a bad salesman that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. So, I went next door and got a great deal on my present coach from Holland Motor Homes, which has since moved to North San Diego County.

Curious. I've seen several bad reports on Holland in Escondido.
The local BBB says La Mesa RV in San Diego gets an A+ rating...13 complaints have been resolved in the past 7 years to the customers satisfaction.
I've always heard that they were some what sleazy!

I purchased my current RV from LaMesa 6 years ago. The salesman was young but really went out of his way to find a MH that fit our request, and called us to visit one of their shows when that MH was available. Even though we did not intend to purchase right away, the deal was such that we did.
This is where the happy story ends!!!!
Follow up service was horrible. Weeks to get an appointment, then the MH would sit on the lot for weeks while "parts were ordered" and returned to us finally is dirty condition. It took a call to the company president and the suggestion that a suit was pending to finally get them to complete modifications agreed to in the purchase contract.
After promises that everything would be better, during the last service call the MH was left on an outside lot, with windows open during a high wind dust storm. It took days for us to clean out the mess. Never again.
In short....whe were pleased with the deal, we will not use their service under any condition. If the price is right, go for it.

I had one really horrible experience with La Mesa in Oregon. Tried to buy a coach from them and at the last minute, after we had cleaned out our old coach and were ready to sign the final papers, they wanted more money down. Wasn't just a few bucks either, 20k!!! At another La Mesa lot, in Quartzsite we wanted another coach and after dealing price I explained that we'd had a bad time in Oregon. Suddenly the deal changed and the price was considerably higher. Standard lo-ball tactics like any car dealer will do, but, be careful.
