Been seeing alot on here lately about one 12v vs two 6v batteries. I need a new battery for my Coyote hybrid and wasn't sure what to go with. Looking for pros and cons. Thanks in advance.

If you are always on hookups, then a single 12 volt is more than enough. If you boon dock most of the time then 2-6 volts will give you slightly better service.

Unless you stay plugged in you cant have too much battery. Two 6-volt batteries gives you the power of 3 12 volt batteries. The other advantage of the 6's is that they can withstand more abuse. If you have the space then go with two 6 volt batteries. Also change all of your lights to LED lights if you plan on being unplugged.

as the others said, depends on whether you dry camp or always have hookups.
i rarely have hookups with my hybrid and i have two 12v deep cycle, since the 6v are taller and i had height restrictions.

Hi Keith,
Those must be mighty small 12 volt batteries.
Here would be the numbers for me:
twin six volt batteries would total 232 amp-hours @ twelve volts.
Triple twelve volt batteries would total 375 amp-hours @ twelve volts.
My old RV had twin twelve volts (total 250 amp-hours) that are still meeting the needs of the new owner. They are 10 years old.

Hi Mike,
It depends how you camp.
If boondocking, squeeze in as many amp-hours as is possible without exceeding the weight allowance for the compartment.
If electric hook ups are always used then a single 12 volt battery will meet the needs.

There are several things that need to be looked at,, I see folks have talked about how much power you need.
A pair of six volt in series (Standard GC-2) give 220-230 amp hours at the 20 hour rate. A single Group 24 about 75, Group 31, about 130 as I recall.
Now, Some folks (Myself included) Like the GC2 because we believe it is a DEEP CYCLE and we feel that DEEP CYCLE is better for "house" use. . Others either show why DEEP CYCLE are bettery (I won't bother doing that) or argue that there is no difference (I believe there is and I've researched a lot).
But the bottom line is this.
Was in camping world and they ahd a rack of "Deep cycle" not one of them had a 2 digit price tag
Sams sells six volt GC-2's for around 70 bucks each.
