I am setting up my Jeep to pull and am looking for suggestions for portable lighting. I use a bike rack on the back of the Jeep which hides the stock Jeep lights so I need a bar or portable lights. Suggestions on particular ones or ways around this issue.

I use magnetic lights from Harbor Freight and install them on my roof. Lights are often on sale for $9.95. I run the wiring through an open door and then out and under the hood. I also bought a flat 4 pin to round 7 pin adapter to plug the lights into my motorhome from Walmart for $10.

Tom,

If you use the magnetic one, how does it stay on your hard top which is fiberglass?

Back when I towed a Sundance on a dolly I made a wooden bar with the suction cups and bracket from an old roof top carrier and attached the lights to that. I used a couple of straps to secure it to the trunk lid.

I use Boat Trailer Sealed LEDs. I attach then with HD Velcro and where they might be a little insecure I also use wire ties (the're cheap and work well). The LEDs are bright enough to mount inside tinted glass.

He *could* use a flat piece of steel inside the Jeep with the fiberglass roof sandwiched between them.

On the back bumper of my Jeep are a couple of things that stick out to the rear. I mounted LED lights to these and then ran the 4 strand wire to the mh plug.

When I had my Swagman bike rack, I mounted stop, turn, tail LED lights to the bike rack. They plugged into the trailer light outlet on the back of the car. That way no body, including a LEO, could say that my rear lights were obscured by anything. It was a light like the following with a rubber gasket around it.
