We really enjoyed Natural bridge, great little hike for the kids to see it and a bit further down a little settlement to see how they used to live in the area. There is also a cavern nearby that we did a tour of and it was great.

We all really love going to Hapers Ferry West VA. Lots of history and things to see and a great forest nearby. My boys always love it when they have the renactors set up and they can see how things were done during the civil war etc. We also stayed at the Harpers Ferry KOA.

Rookie Rver here! Depending on how much of a kid you still have within you I'd suggest waterguns. Yeap, thats right.....water guns. Short version of long story.....three weeks ago I had the priviledge of camping with KIDS ages 6 to 16. There were probably a total of 18 of them who just wanted to sit around and complain, attempt to watch a movie(s)(yeap while on a camping trip), use cell phones, and so on. In one of the compartments of my motor home I have a trunk full of various sizes and styles of water guns. The two "super-soakers" are mine but the rest.....it was every man/woman for themselves. This began about 9:30am. By the time night fall rolled around there were other people from other camp sites part of the fight. The only "cease fire" was around 2pm or 3pm because "THEY" (teenagers) said they were hungry. Thats when I noticed too other campers making a Wal-Mart run and coming back with water guns. The results......the two year olds begged to take their naps, the nine and ten year olds were giggling and wrestling in the dirt (yes while still wet), oh and the teens, forgot all about their electronics, desires to watch movies, meet new people, talked, laughed, giggled, sat by the camp fire (some still holding the water gun they claimed), but most of all one of them shouted out the question, ".....are we gonna do this again tomorrow...". In the many years I've been camping I have NEVER known water guns to fail!

Hershey Park,PA. I took my kids here for a mini break and it was awesome!!! It was crazy expensive though. Even with coupons it was pricey. Yet, this was a trip that will be forever remembered. The spa even has chocolate facials! How cool is that??? Gabriel had a great time. So did my wife and I. Lex on the other hand was only concerned with the jumbo hershey kiss in her hand. Roller coasters were pretty fun, though not as amazing as we expected. The best part is that it wasnt very crowded at all. Very few lines.

Hate living in the house which is like a box.
So I like Tent Camping.

My family and I have camped at both Hershey and Kings Dominion and enjoyed the trips very much.

There is also a KOA campground in Verona, Virginia (Near Staunton) that was very nice. Pool, fishing and river with waterfall for tubing in. We plan to back to that on soon.

Dutch Wonderland PA. is a great place for small kids and theres a campground/rv resort right next to it(walk right next door). My kids loved it(9yr old girl, 9yr old boy, 12 yr old girl).

Hello -- not sure about the camping facilities, but I know there are some of some sort -- but how about Calvert Cliffs State Park? If your boys are into fossils, it's one of the few places you can actually find and keep real ones for yourself.

National Seashore RV Park would be the best choice for you. It has a water park and a lot of kid activities. There is also a Zoo near the Park. So I'm sure your kids can have lot of fun over there.

Where is this place? Google search of National Seashore RV Park comes up with many possibilities.

I like the water gun idea :-)

I have not been able to go RVing since I started this thread...some job problems...but the kids dont seem to be excited about going camping. They were excited about Florida but that was NOT because of camping...that was all about the theme parks there.

Wife and me love camping...but kids think it is boring. As most kids these days...they want that Wii, movies and TV to work when you are camping. Yuck!

Maybe the watergun idea will work on them. Will try it out next time we are out camping.

What do your kids do when you are out RVing / camping?
