I need help in deciding what size 5'er to get. We have a 2011 2500 dodge ram crew cab with the 6.7 diesel and woild like a rig able to hold a stack washer/dryer, rear living, front bedroom, and the biggest tub/shower we can get and tow. We have looked at the Montana and Big Horn but not sure if we can safely tow it. any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

Not sure what current BH weights are but I have the BH/Dodge combo in sig and pushing the limits on my 3500. W/D combo in front closet may put your pin weight over your payload/GVWR for the TV.

Whiskey Pete,
You're going to have to determine what weight of 5th wheel your truck can safely tow. Once you have that weight then you need to find a fifth wheel that has a lower rated weight. You want to give yourself a good margin of safety so look for a 5th wheel that is rated at least 1000lbs at maximum capacity under what your truck is rated at.
I've seen 28ft 5th wheels with space for a washer dryer combo unit. But most are in the 32 foot plus range with multiple slides, so the weight can be significant.

Our Montana 3400lb runs a pin weight close to 2,800 lbs. We have the stackable W/D and our gross weight runs 15,100 lbs.
I suspect you will overload the payload on that 2500 Dodge with any of the Montana or Bighorn lineup, unless you look at the lightweights (Helium Technology)

With a 2500 you are limited to around 10,000 pound fiver. Even at that you will be pushing your trucks capacity with a 2000 pound pin weight.

This seems to come up all the time. Your biggest concern will be pin weight as your truck will pull it just fine.
Since you have a really new 2500 truck you might look into ( if needed) adding to the rear spring pak and getting some higher rated rear wheels and tires. That is about the only difference between the 25 & 35 series SRW trucks.
Just guessing that you have 3042 lb E rated rear tires which gives you a RAWR of about 6200 lbs.
Good luck

You can probably go as high as 11,000 dry weight trailer, IF you leave out the washer dryer and Generator, and try to pack light. Mine weighs around 13,000 ready to go. When the Gross trailer weight reaches 14,000 you are over your limit with that truck. My way of looking at it and my opinion.

Our 2500 is a Maxi Cab HD model with air bags. We've had it weighed twice and passed both times.
