Other than the obvious Workcamping for on the road income or benefits does anyone make any crafts of any sort to sell when you are in a town and can sell your crafts? I would love to be able to make something that people really wanted to buy because of it being a quality unique item. Any ideas? I know you guys are "crafty". What kind of crafts are hot now and easy to take with you to make on the road?
Thank you

Make windsocks or chimes. I use one or two outside all the time, and bought my latest ones from a gal that was rving a few sites down. They tell me when to hit the awning button.

Can't tell what the wife and I make and sell.(Trying to keep down the competition) A lot of the CG's that we visit have "craft" sales. Maybe weekly or less often. Visit one and see what people are buying. The right items sell!!! If you have a hobby or handy making thing, you should find something that sells.

You can find fishing flys in bulk on EBay for about a buck each. On the river, they easily go for two bucks each. It is a slow business, though. More for fun than profit, but if you have the hot fly of the day, they will beat a path to your door. Hide two hot flys in a twelve pack to increase profits.

Hi Tazymae! Great question. I've seen everything from a home-based decal business to my own rolling jewelry factory. Other folks collect small collectible flea-market type objects that can be resold via ebay, etc. Recently I wrote a book called "Income Anywhere" that shares more ideas about making money on the road. Since RV.net doesn't allow members to post URLs here, PM me if you'd like info on how to get a copy. Good luck!

It is not as easy as it sounds to be a vendor at various events. Attendance at rallies is down and the people that attend don't spend as much as they used to. Rallies will cost you for attendance plus you will need liability insurance to boot. Don't go this route unless you go whole hog and invest in inventory, web site, booth set up stuff, advertising etc.

As for doing something in a CG you have to look at what skills you have or what you are good at doing. See if you can make some money at that. You often have to do this under the campgrounds radar as most don't want you "selling" stuff to their customer as it may be considered annoying to others in their opinion.
Good luck with your choices.
