A deer swam across the river among the seals but of course I didn't have the camera The eagles usually sit in a tree but this one got right in there. (Hatchery has let some baby salmon go down to sea.)
Update 2

Off topic and not too clear, but more river scenery. A gaggle of geese, a mystery Muscovy drake, and deer

More off-topic but another river Rving event:

Now we have the mystery swan. It is a "Mute Swan" which is supposed to be found in New Jersey, not swimming at sea (and coming up-river sometimes) in Qualicum Bay thinking it is a goose like the ugly duckling. Weird. And that Muscovy drake can fly, so it is not a farm bird. Muscovies are from Mexico and South America. So these two lonely guys are hanging around the Big Qualicum with the geese and ducks for now. The geese accept the swan but they don't like that Muscovy very much.

I obviously need a better camera or technique, but you get the idea sort of)

Yip -- and the greenies think they should be "saved". Sea Lions and seals cause a lot of heartache for fishermen on the Oregon coast. I'd gladly learn my hunting skills on them. I've had them destroy a crab pot trying to get to my bait....GRRRRR

Don't even get me started about those guys upriver on the Columbia ...

But there's hope- The Feds are going after them. Finally!

That's really a challenge. But I hope you can win the game.

Years ago, a resident of the Sunshine Coast BC, told me that all one needed to catch salmon was a rod, reel and a rifle. The rifle is for the seals, so you can get what you catch into the boat.

As an elk hunter and fisherman, I see there seems to be a correlation here. Elk populations have dropped because of increased populations of the wolf. Fish populations have dropped because of the river wolf.

Looks like they both need to be thinned out.

If you really really want to see salmon disappear in a flash, call a Black Fish.
