Well yesterday was a big day....Took a ride in the 2 seat Indycar. What a blast. Did 3 laps...an outlap...a flyer...and an inlap. Flyer lap was 185. I challenge anyone who says race car drivers are not athletes. I don't know how they stand the "G" load through the turns lap after lap for 500 miles. I guess they train for it. Gave me a whole new perspective and appreciation for the sport. If you ever get the chance...do it! It was a thrill!!
All I ask is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

I'll NEVER be an "EXPERT" (In math.X is an unknown factor and a "SPURT" is just a drip - under pressure)

Congrats on what must have been an awesome experience and hope you got the pictures or DVD for great memories!!
We did a Walt Disney Cruise and World vacation last December and my family totally surprised me with a Richard Petty Driving Experience at WDW Speedway (with DVD), and I was blown away with the fun I had for those 8 laps. We were NOT at the limits of the car, track or driver, but it certainly gave me much more appreciation for what the professionals do which IS a bit more than "Just Turning Left"! How my wife and kids kept the secret of R.P.D.E. until the taxi ride from Pop Century from me, I WILL NEVER KNOW?
Can't imagine what your the Indy car ride was like as I have never done open wheel race cars before, but this Sunday is my absolute favourite race weekend of the year with F1 @ Monaco early, Indy 500 and then Coke 600.
Go Webber - F1, Franchitti & Hinchliffe - Indy, Martin - Nascar.
Hope for a safe weekend for all events and a dry Indy 500 & Coke 600.
Mike.

My main "problem" with the drive was I kept going too low on the turns. When I drive a "regular" car fast into a curve, it ALWAYS drifts outward. So I naturally aim further into a turn than the line I want to follow. With the NASCAR, it went EXACTLY where I pointed it, like it was glued to the track. And the car only seemed to run well at two settings, "flat out" and "coasting".
Do go for one of those, it is worth it. The one item I will try (should have done it for my 50th) is to drive a road course. They used to do that at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, but I don't see the link anymore.
