Greetings fellow RV'ers, 1fanman here with a question. Can any of you please tell me how to adjust the entrance door on my Bounder, I am so tired of having to slam the door to close and lock it, this blasted thing has been this way since we bought it new in 2005. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance, 1fanman/akaDel

Loosen the screws on the hinge and see if there's any play. It doesn't take much to to get it to close and latch properly if it can be moved slightly.

A little white lithium grease on the striker plate and latch bolt helps too.

I HAD the exact same problem with my Expedition (a close cousin to your Bounder). I would adjust the striker bolt and get the door to close better and weeks later it would need adjustment again. I even welded a bead of weld to make the latch operate better.
THE SOLUTION: The top hinge of your door is broken. I may not look broken, but its broken. You can buy a new hinge here.
They aren't cheap but its the only place to get one - like $140.00 each. Trust me, bet you a dollar to a Krispy Kream thats your problem.

Well Next time I am in Albuquerque, I will have to look you up for my Krispy Kream, I examined the hinges closely and didn't see any breaks or cracks so upin further examination I noticed that the striker plate had been moved, made a minor adjustment to that and my problem was fixed. I do appreciate the response and value all of the opinions on our forum. thanks again to all that responded. Happy camping and lets keep the shinny side up. 1fanman/akaDel

Ya know, I just hate being wrong, really hate it a lot. But in this case I'd rather spend the buck for a couple Krispy Kreams if it saved you the $140+ dollars for the hinge. Let me know when we can savor the doughnuts.
