I removed the old style TV from the bedroom in the RV. Storing a couple piles of t-shirts and sweatshirts in the space now.

I do eventually want to get an LCD/LED TV to replace the old one, but thinking about not mounting it so that I can bring it in the house when I am back home for that bedroom. I travel 3-4 months a year.

Just wondering if any of you do this and what your experience has been. Do you lay the TV face down on the bed when the RV is in motion? Do you use velcro straps or anything similar to keep the TV in place while in motion? With a pile of t-shirts behind the TV, I thought maybe I could rig up some kind of straps placed horizontally in front (attached to each side of the cabinet.) Do you think this would be sufficient?

Any ideas/suggestions?

My 32" lays on the bed when moving. The 19" in the bedroom stays mounted and secured with a bungee. No problems so far.

I did this for 2 seasons. I purchased some quick disconnect coax connections from Radio Shack. When traveling, I stored the television under the queen bed, where I keep my extra blankets and pillows.

I am much happier now that I have a TV just for the TT. One less thing to take in/out. One less thing to setup/take down. Got a great deal on it after Christmas.

I bought a 32" LCD tv to use in both the RV and the house. I saved the box. In the house I attach the pedestal to the TV and put it on top of a stand in the living room. In the RV when we are traveling it stays in the box. When we stop I either put it up front on the doghouse or in the back bedroom, depending on how many people are going to watch. I have wall mount in the back bedroom. The TV has brackets on the back that snap on to the wall mount. This system works well for us. In case you are interested the mount is called "Eco-Mount" model EL404BA. It was only $33.00 from mountsandmore.com

Ours LCD tv is on the bed when we travel, too. Because our cats meander throughout when we travel, we lay it face down.

buy two mounts. rig up one in the rv and one in the house. easy swap. there is at least one out there that comes with two wall portions for just such an occasion.

We just mounted a 19" on the ceiling of our "B". when traveling it swings up against the ceiling bungee corded in place. Swings down for use. To remove, disconnect the antenna cable and power lead, unscrew one screw and the bracket slips off the TV and the built in base will then allow it to stand alone anywhere. Cost all of $169 the bracket was around $50 or so, don't remember. BTW, the TV also has a built in DVD player, a real plus.

a big towel wrapped around it and flat on bed while travelling. but new camper is permanent wall mount so I will never have to do that again. I hate taking in and out of camper. but we did it for a while.
