As a mechanic for many years, I washed my hands before I used the restroom.

My mechanic wears gloves to work on cars. I don't know what he would do if his pup had a holding tank. Should I ask him?

I agree there is such a thing as too clean. Along with gas pumps, another filthy item is money. From the studies of the contamination on it, some cocaine junkie used it to wipe.

There was a thread here back in January IIRC about people taking bleach to the threads on the spigot at the camp site. A number of us came to the conclusion we should be dead. LOL.

Lately, I avoid the antibacterial soap in favor of regular soap. About the only exception I make is after handling raw meat. I would include raw vegtables -- but I don't eat that "healthy". My family does though. So why am I in the best physical condition and get sick the least?

You heard the one about the two guys standing side by side at the urinals. The first one finished and went to the sink and started washing his hands. The second one finished and started walking right out of the restroom. The first guy said to the second, "Hey man, didn't your mother teach you to wash your hands after doing that?"

The second man simple relied "No, but my father did teach me not to p*ss on my fingers!"

I'll either keep a paper towel for that, or I'll try to open the door with a closed fist or my elbow.

Men's restrooms are pig sties. Urine on the floor, splash-back when you use the urinal.. heck I'll bet every man's pantlegs in America has urine on them. Nothing wrong with washing your hands, and washing often as the medical profession professes. I personally don't get too fussy at the dump either.

Men's restrooms can be pig sties but the urine is not what you need to worry about. Urine has no bacteria in it. Not saying I want to bathe in it though.

I've been always told that currency is the most dirtiest thing that people handle on a daily basis. I don't think I would want to wear gloves everyday just to handle money.

Filthy? Check the computer keyboard. It may be dirtier than your toilet

What hose are you guys talking about rinsing off? I don't use a hose to dump in. I pull up and get aligned with the cement trough and pull the valve simple no hose. Isn't that what you are supposed to do?

Urine is sterile when inside the body, however it contaminates very rapidly when exposed to air... People always seem to miss that part...

x2!

between people freaking out about someone's else dump station habits or that they can't drink any water unless it's bottled, i sometimes wonder if these people would ever survive a real disaster.
where there's no running/clean water and no clean toilets.

now, if the guy had not used a sewer hose and just dumped his black tank on the ground, THAT would be gross!
