I'm wondering if it's time to change the topic to covering your mouth when you sneeze......or maybe, wiping your feet when you enter your RV. Those ought to be good for eight or ten pages, don't you think?

I'm not saying it's a problem- but I will say that I'm glad I don't live in any of the downstream communities that use the Colorado for drinking water!
The yuck factor's just a bit too much for me, now that I know about this practice....

Most of us are laughing at your silliness. The way things are, and have been, and are not yucky at all, is too much for you?

Mission Accomplished!
We now return you to the terribly serious discussion regarding eating sandwiches while dumping black tanks etc...

I generally think that you need to test your immune system periodically, but do wash my hands after dumping the tanks. I use heavy Atlas industrial gloves if it looks like there might be adventures.
While I was staying in Olympic National Park, I developed an eye infection and went to a walk-in clinic in Forks. The PA asked me if I had been hiking in ONP? She said that they had a lot of eye infections recently and tested the wooden handrails on the trails. They were impressed with the degree of contamination they found there.
Temperate rain forests like to grow/incubate things.
OK so next time I'll try not to touch my eyes.

I hope we didn't run the OP off. This and "Why Does My Black Tank Smell Bad" are the best threads.

I am female and my significant other (who is a male) is way more concerned about germs than I am. This isn't a gender based issue. Some people are just way more germophobic than others.
I get very irritated with the extent he goes sometimes to keep everything so disinfected. I grew up in the country and ran around barefoot playing with farm animals. Took a bath at night and washed my hands here and there throughout the day if they got really dirty, and I rarely was sick as a child.
He has relaxed a bit, but I realize that is his nature, and I am not going to change it. So it is even more ludicrous for a stranger to think they will change someone's habits they don't know. If the person in front of you (OP) doesn't wear gloves, so what. They might have wipes in the car or something. I hope my actions at the CG are not so scrutinized by strangers. lol
